The Science of Certainty

Why Peer-Reviewed Validation is the New Standard for Ag-Cleantech

In June, we envisioned a future where the soil microbiome drives climate action. In July, we move from vision to verification.

Within the soil is where the solution lies, and with Soileos, supporting soil health and storing carbon has become both accessible and achievable.

For Lucent Bio, supporting the soil is at the core of what we do, from our climate-smart fertilizer to micronutrient seed coating. We are proud to be a science-first organization providing solutions to the world’s most pressing agricultural issues.

Verified proof: Slow release copper

Our recent study, Slow-Release Copper Efficacy Study on Wheat (Nourmohammadian et al., 2026), evaluates how Soileos Copper supports our mission to harness the soil microbiome for climate action.

The study, done across field trials in the US and Canada, and greenhouse trials, found that Soileos Copper increased nutrient use efficiency, and delivered stronger yields. Improving nutrient efficiency is essential in a world where pressure on agroecosystems is rapidly rising.

Soileos Copper is designed to support your crops, delivering bio-activated slow-release copper nutrition that promotes soil productivity, and crop growth.

With soil degradation and high yield demands, soil health is weakening and crops are becoming nutrient deprived. A heavy reliance on conventional fertilizers can lead to off-farm environmental degradation as conventional fertilizer can lose up to 70% of their nutrients to leaching, volatilization, soil immobilization.

The use of Soileos Copper in both greenhouse and field experiments was found to increase nutrient use efficiency, maximizing crop yield. In greenhouse trials, Soileos Copper achieved maximum grain yield, spike count and biomass with up to 26% lower copper application compared to copper sulfates. Across Canada and the US, field applications of Soileos Copper increased yield up to 13.3% at copper deficient sites.

A Commitment That Works

These findings are a testament to the power of Soileos Copper and its ability to support soil health and crop growth while being climate-smart and sustainable.

Lucent Bio is proud to be a science-backed, proof-first company, bringing solutions to issues to the Agri-food industry.
